FiberWeek Technology Co., Ltd., a leading provider of optical transceiver solutions, is proud to announce the launch of its new generation of multimode BIDI (bidirectional) transceivers. The newly released series includes 800G SR4.2, 400G SR4.2 and 100G SR1.2 modules, providing flexible, high-performance connectivity for modern data center environments.Both 800G and 400G models are available in OSFP and QSFP-DD800 form factors to support a wide range of network requirements.
The 800G SR4.2 optical module uses 850nm and 910nm VCSELs to transmit two wavelengths bidirectionally through a single optical fiber, with a single wavelength rate of up to 106 Gbps. It features an MPO-12 interface and 4+4 fiber layout, providing a seamless migration path from 400G to 800G while maintaining existing multimode cabling infrastructure.
400G SR4.2 optical modules use a similar architecture and operate at 53 Gbps per wavelength. It supports both 400G point-to-point connections and 4x100G breakout configurations. This flexibility ensures full compatibility with both 100G MM BIDI modules and IEEE KP4 FEC-based 100G SR1.2 legacy modules in breakout applications.
The 100G SR1.2 module is built on the QSFP28 form factor and features a standard LC duplex interface. Like the 800G and 400G models, it uses 850nm and 910nm wavelengths over a single fiber to guarantee seamless interoperability with the SR4.2 family. It also complies with IEEE KP4 FEC standards, ensuring reliable and efficient data transmission.
With the introduction of these high-speed BIDI multimode optical modules, FiberWeek now offers a full line of multimode optical modules and AOC cables supporting speeds from 10G to 800G. This expansion strengthens FiberWeek’s ability to deliver fast, scalable and cost-effective connectivity solutions to meet evolving data center needs.
